Radiation safety training for responsible persons and employees working with ionizing radiation sources

Ionizing radiation is harmful to the human body. Even small doses can cause damage to various genetic structures and increase the risk of cancer.

Radiation safety is a specific field, therefore the training of radiation safety specialists and the improvement of their qualifications require special training in this field.

We organize radiation safety training for responsible employees working with ionizing radiation sources.

Responsible for sources of ionizing radiation

Facilities that use ionizing radiation sources of hazard categories III-V (except for personal healthcare institutions that use dental X-ray diagnostic devices).

  • The duration of initial training is 60 hours.
  • Duration of periodic training – 20 hours.

Personal healthcare facilities that use dental X-ray diagnostic equipment.

  • Duration of initial training – 20 hours.
  • Duration of periodic training – 8 hours.

Working with sources of ionizing radiation

Facilities that use ionizing radiation sources of hazard categories III-V (except for personal healthcare institutions that use dental X-ray diagnostic devices).

  • The duration of initial training is 30 hours.
  • Duration of periodic training – 20 hours.

Personal healthcare facilities that use dental X-ray diagnostic equipment.

  • Duration of initial training – 14 hours.
  • Duration of periodic training – 8 hours.

Radiation safety training is organized throughout Lithuania.

Radiation safety training programs are coordinated with the Radiation Safety Center .

Those who pass the exam are issued a radiation safety certificate in the prescribed form.
