Electrophysical measurements

Measurements of electrical cables, their insulation, transition contacts, grounding resistors, and circuits

Electrophysical Measurements and Thermal Imaging

Before electrical equipment is put into service at a company and during its subsequent operation, it is mandatory to periodically perform electrophysical (electrical) measurements.
Approximately one-third of all fires that occur at companies are caused by faulty electrical equipment and wiring. It is important to note that, in the event of an accident, insurance companies often require documentation proving that electrical equipment has been properly maintained and tested.

Using state-of-the-art measuring equipment, we perform the following electrophysical measurements:

  • the insulation resistance of electrical wiring and cables,
  • Cable insulation testing using very low frequency (VLF) equipment;
  • Measurement of insulation resistance in cables and power transformers;
  • Work on the commissioning of relay protection and automation systems;
  • Testing of automatic circuit breakers, verification of trip characteristics;
  • Measurements and testing of electrical equipment;
  • Electrical measurements of indoor installations;
  • Installation of cable terminations and connectors.
  • the continuity of protective conductors (transition connections),
  • Circuit phases – zero parameters,
  • insulation resistance of portable power tools, welding transformers, and current converters,
  • the resistance of protective and working grounding electrodes.

Our qualified electrical engineering specialists, using state-of-the-art thermal imaging equipment, will help detect and identify defects in electrical installations and assess the condition of equipment based on the intensity of thermal radiation (infrared rays invisible to the naked eye).

Advantages of thermal imaging inspections of electrical equipment compared to conventional testing:

  • Measurements can be taken without turning off the device,
  • measurements under actual operating conditions and in the desired modes,
  • Reducing potential risks through the principle of non-contact measurement.
