Registration for a Vehicle Inspection (TA)
This free service is available for vehicles registered in Lithuania and those being prepared for registration in the country.
When registering for a vehicle inspection online, you must enter the vehicle's license plate number in the appropriate field. The next field is for selecting your preferred location (city, inspection station) and time (day of the week and hour).
You must also provide one of your contact details (a cell phone number or email address). An activation code will be sent to that contact, and once entered, the vehicle will be registered for the technical inspection. In addition, one day before the technical inspection, a reminder regarding the scheduled time and location of the inspection will be sent to the contact you provided.
If you are unable to attend, please cancel your appointment using the same method you used to book the service, or call +370 633 93000.
Permission to visit a vehicle inspection facility to undergo a mandatory vehicle inspection
This permit is issued for vehicles and their trailers whose technical inspection has expired or been revoked.
The owner or operator of a vehicle, after logging in to the website of the Lithuanian Association of Technical Inspection Companies atwww.vta.lt, enters the vehicle’s license plate number and registration certificate number, the permit’s validity period, the technical inspection company, and the station to which the vehicle must be taken for the mandatory technical inspection, and is then able to print the permit.
A person who holds a permit and brings a vehicle to a vehicle inspection facility must ensure that the vehicle does not pose a threat to traffic safety, public health, or the environment; they must also commit to driving safely to the vehicle inspection facility and assume all related responsibility. This person must confirm this with their signature and provide their first and last name; without this information, the permit is invalid.
Reminder Regarding the Validity of the Vehicle Inspection (REMINDER)
This free service is available only to owners of vehicles with a valid technical inspection. Only registered users can request a REMINDER (see the LOGIN section).
A REMINDER regarding the expiration of the mandatory technical inspection can be requested on the website www.vta.lt or at technical inspection stations.
If you wish to request a REMINDER, enter the vehicle identification number (VIN) or the registration certificate number in the appropriate field.
Users are notified of the registration of a REMINDER via email or text message (SMS).
The website www.vta.lt provides the option to unsubscribe from the REMINDER service you previously registered for.
If a customer has signed up for the REMINDER service at a TA station, they can also use the www.vta.lt website to change previously provided information or cancel this service. In this case, the customer’s email address or cell phone number serves as their login (depending on which contact details were provided).
When you log in for the first time, a new password is created.
When a mobile phone number is selected as the username, it is entered without the international country code (+370)—that is, the last 8 digits, for example, 6XX 00000.
A REMINDER via email or text message (SMS) is sent 20 days before the TA expires.
