Vehicles recognized as historic by automobile clubs undergo technical inspections in the usual manner.
A historic motor vehicle must have an authentic appearance, not be used for everyday purposes, have been manufactured more than 30 years ago, and be of a specific model or type that has not been mass-produced for at least 15 years.
Technical inspections of vehicles are conducted only by appointment, prior to the expiration of the deadline for their designation as historic vehicles.
The cost of a technical inspection depends on the vehicle's category and class and is listed on the company's website.
A list of vehicles recognized as historic can be found here.
Vehicles must be presented for technical inspection with historical vehicle license plates issued by AB “Regitra.”
The frequency of technical inspections for historic motor vehicles is every 5 years.
The status of a historic vehicle is valid for 10 years from the date the automobile club recognizes it as a historic motor vehicle. Ten years after the date of recognition as a historic motor vehicle, you will need to submit the documents listed on our website , and the vehicle will be recognized as a historic vehicle during the technical inspection.
If an expiration date is indicated in Section “H” of the registration certificate, then once the registration certificate’s validity period has expired—provided that the vehicle has a valid technical inspection—you must go to AB “Regitra” to replace the registration certificate. The newly issued registration certificate will not have an expiration date.
Technical inspections of historic motor vehicles are conducted at the following inspection stations:
– Vilnius (7A Lentvario St.) (historic vehicles do not need to wait in the general line)
– Avižieniai (16 Senasis Ukmergės Kel., Avižieniai Parish, Užubaliai Village)
– Ukmergė (33A Deltuvos St.)
